Provides rides for only the following purposes: necessary errands, medical appointments, or grocery shopping. Also, you must meet at least one of these criteria: you are 60+ years old. No membership is required.
The Dignified Senior Transportation program offers dignified and private transportation services for older adults in Champaign County. This program is committed to ensuring that older adults can access vital services and maintain their independence through reliable transportation options.
Rides can be scheduled in advance, providing the flexibility needed to attend medical appointments, therapy sessions, grocery shopping, or other essential outings. Volunteers provide free transportation, although donations are gratefully accepted to support the program's sustainability. For rides arranged via cab, the rider is responsible for paying half of the fare, but those with an MTD Dash Pass may have the other half covered, depending on the amount of transportation already used within the year.
The program's door-to-door services prioritize the comfort and convenience of older adults, especially those needing transportation for doctor-ordered therapies like dialysis, chemotherapy, or physical therapy. With a commitment to ensuring access to crucial services, Dignified Senior Transportation plays a vital role in supporting the well-being and independence of older adults in the community. For more information or to schedule a ride, individuals can contact the program directly.
