The Transportation Assistance Program offers a convenient and affordable transportation solution for older adults in the community. This program operates on a donation basis and charges a flat fee for rides, with pricing set at $3.00 for a one-way trip or $6.00 for a round trip. For individuals with limited income, fares may be waived to ensure accessibility for all riders.
Participants in the program can benefit from assistance with carrying packages or bags, adding an extra layer of support for their journey. To utilize the service, riders are required to schedule their trips in advance, typically a few days beforehand, to ensure smooth coordination. Payment for the rides can be made by check or cash, with the option for pre-payment available for added convenience.
Transportation is provided via shared van rides, offering a social and cost-effective way to travel within the community. The program ensures a seamless experience by offering curb-to-curb transportation, prioritizing the comfort and safety of older adults during their travels.
