Please make sure to contact Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART): Paratransit Service to confirm details of their transportation services.
Provides rides for any purpose, as long as you meet one of the following criteria: you are 65+ years old, or you have a disability.
The Paratransit Service program offers shared rides for older adults who may have difficulty using traditional public transportation due to a disability or mobility challenge. This program provides curb-to-curb transportation, meaning it picks up and drops off riders at their doorstep or the nearest accessible location. Additionally, riders are allowed to bring service animals with them when using this service.
To use the Paratransit Service, older adults are required to schedule their rides in advance, typically a few days ahead of time. The program charges a flat fee depending on the type of rider: Cash fare is $3.50, Guest fare is $3.50, and Paratransit Fare Coupons for 10 trips cost $35.00. Feeder Fare is available for $1.00. Payment is accepted in cash, and the program aims to provide cost-effective and accessible transportation options for older adults who may face challenges in using traditional public transit services.
